Position Summary
Recruit students, provide new and continuing students with comprehensive college information; design, promote, and coordinate MAC student activities; market MAC to all college constituents.
Key Performance Indicators
- Program recruiting (full programs with active wait lists of interested students)
- Program retention (high completion statistics)
- Student satisfaction scores
- High program awareness in the community
- Student event records: date, number of attendees, type of event
- Recruiting Visit Data: volume, date, and location of recruiting visits (high school, college fairs, community events)
- Analyze and recommend improvements each semester after reviewing registration census data
- Campus Tour Data: volume, date, and number of campus tour activities, as well as outcomes
- Analyze application statistics, including percentage of applicants who enroll
- Recommend ideas for improvement
Essential Functions
- Serve as the public relations and information liaison to public, private, and home school systems in the college service area.
- Develop and implement recruiting programs and student activities marketed toward minority and other special populations.
- Meet with high school seniors (in person, group, phone, email, and/or web) to discuss access to college and its programs. Follow up with student inquiries.
- Conduct high school visits and college fairs. Build positive relationships with high school counselors ensuring they are supplied with college materials such as catalogs and other publications. Attend evening and weekend events.
- Inform high school counselors of program and course changes and additions.
- Coordinate and conduct campus visits and tours for prospective students, including scheduling, contacting advisors, posting student’s name on TV outside of Student Services, and following up with an email/survey after the visit.
- Conduct evening meetings with interested parents and students.
- Prepare mailings to students requesting college information.
- Assist with new student orientation programs.
- Serve on Enrollment Management Committee and Student Involvement Committee.
- Assist in the development and design of college promotions and marketing projects such as the View Book, evaluating their effectiveness.
- Develop and implement special event marketing strategies and promotions, attending and setting up college booths at such events as Country Days, county fairs, Azalea Festival, Labor Day Picnic, etc.
- Assist with student services office duties such as data entry and document imaging.
- Develop, promote and coordinate student activities including intramural, recreational programs and special events such as festivals, blood drives, movie nights, etc.
- Promote and support campus clubs and organizations. Oversee the Student Activities Committee.
- Maintain an up-to-date calendar of events and accurate records of student activities.
- Oversee student ambassadors including hiring, training, scheduling and supervising ambassadors for campus tours and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication tools and effectively use those tools
Maintain up-to-date knowledge to effectively track and report on program data
Experience with data management and computer systems
Knowledge of budget preparation and basic accounting principles
Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
Work Experience: at least one year of customer service
Industry Knowledge: experience with education a plus
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Ability to speak clearly to large and small groups, stand for long periods of time during presentations, walk up and down stairs indoors and outdoors while giving campus tours.
Position requires ability to lift, push, pull, and carry to set up and clean up activities for student events.
Public contact position requiring appropriate businesslike apparel.
Responsibilities frequently require adjustments to work schedule involving early mornings, evenings, and weekend hours and the ability to travel throughout the college service area for recruiting.
