Mineral Area College Fall Registration
We Need To Talk
Park Hills, MO – July 17, 2019 – Bad news usually follows those words, but not this time. Instead, I'd like to talk about how enrolling at Mineral Area College might be a great option for you.
If you've grown up with MAC in your back yard, not giving the institution much thought, consider taking another look. My sister graduated from a community college, and now she has two master's degrees. It's not about where you start, but where you're prepared to go next, and MAC prepares students for wherever they want to go next; in fact, graduates consistently score higher on the sophomore exit exam than any other college or university in the state.
That doesn't mean MAC is the right choice for everyone. I attended a large university where my core classes averaged between 80 and 200 students, plus three auditorium classes with 500. I loved my experience, and if you want that type of big school atmosphere, I say go for it.
But if that doesn't sound right for you, consider that MAC classes average just under 20 students. In addition, our faculty and administration are easily accessible, which often isn't the case at larger institutions. If you want the independence associated with university life, consider living in one of our on-campus apartments. And best of all, you won't be paying back student loans for the rest of your life.
If you want to take control of your future, consider enrolling for the fall, even if it's just for one course. If you're still unsure, please know that we have multiple tutoring services, disability accommodations, mental-health counseling, career advising, and much more.
