Farmington Presbyterian Manor on U.S. News and World Report Best Nursing Homes List

Farmington Presbyterian Manor is on the U.S. News and World Report Best Nursing Homes 2012 list. The retirement community received the highest score of a five-star rating to make the list, released today at www.usnews.com/nursinghomes.
The U.S. News list uses information from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the government agency that sets and enforces standards for nursing homes. CMS assigns one to five stars to each community for how well it performs in health inspections, nurse staffing and level of quality care.
Only about one community in eight nationwide received a five-star overall rating in all four quarters of 2011, indicating performance “far above average” compared to the more than 15,500 nursing homes in the country.
“Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America employees focus their efforts on delivering quality caring every day,” said PMMA President and CEO Bruce Shogren. “The five-star rating system is confirmation of our staff’s good work. The PMMA philosophy is to ‘Focus on the quality, and the stars will come.’”
Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America retirement communities on the honoree list are Farmington and Rolla in Missouri and Aberdeen Village (Olathe), Clay Center, Emporia, Lawrence, Newton, Parsons, Salina, Sterling and Wichita in Kansas.
