The Alzheimer's Association of St. Louis recently entered Monsanto's Grow St. Louis contest in an effort to receive funding for family outreach and education.
The contest's projects that accumulate the top three number of votes will receive $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000 grants from Monsanto.
The Alzheimer's Association St. Louis chapter plans to use the possible grant money to reach persons with dementia and their caregivers through an expanded Alzheimer’s Family Outreach and Education Program that offers orientation to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, support with managing the illness, information on available programs and services and access to emerging research and treatment information.
Nomination submissions for the Grow St. Louis contest took place on www.stlgrown.com between December 5 and 23. The public voted on their favorite non-profits and projects that will help grow St. Louis.
Voting is now open through January 29 for the public to choose their favorite eligible submission. Daily votes will be limited to one vote per person.
