The production of "The Nutcracker" has been brought to life countless times on stages around the world. It is the timeless story of a young girl's Christmas dream.
On December 8, 9 and 10, that story will unfold on the stage of the Centene Center in Farmington. The Young People's Performing Arts Theatre will host its 21st production of the E.T.A. Hoffman story set to the magical musical score by Tchaikovsky. More than 180 dancers and actors- including adults and young children - are involved in this year's production. In addition, three professional guests dancers will partner with local dancers in the lead male roles. The artistic director for the show is Kimberly Gavin Anderson. The show will take place at 7:00 p.m. each evening, with a 1 p.m. matinee on December 10.
Tickets for the presentation are $12.50 and are on sale now at the Farmington Civic Center. Organizations and group may inquire about discounted group ticket sales by calling the civic center at 756-0900.
