Friends in Action Clubhouse will host its 11th annual Art Show and Sale Friday, May 17, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmington Public Library.
All are invited to attend this 11th annual event, which raises funds to help the Clubhouse continue supporting its members on their recovery path.
Sponsored by BJC Behavioral Health, Friends in Action helps adults with mental illness integrate back into the community. While building relationships at Clubhouse, members have the opportunity to engage in meaningful work in a safe and secure place.
“Part of the ‘meaningful work’ we do at Clubhouse involves creating artwork that helps our members express themselves and expand their skills, “ says Karen Miller, associate director, BJC Behavioral Health. “Our annual Art Show offers member pieces for sale as well as artwork that has been donated by generous members of our community.”
Along with the beautiful array of artwork in a variety of media, the event features refreshments, live music and a live auction hosted by local personality Mark Toti.
Artists will be on hand to create pieces on the spot, including caricatures by Clubhouse member Curtis and other custom artwork.
As in previous years, there will also be a special section of children’s art for sale, created and donated by kids from across the community – including those who are clients of BJC Behavioral Health.
“The Art Show helps the Clubhouse create awareness and spotlight the talent of its members,” says Paula Franks, president, Friends in Action Clubhouse Advisory Board. “But it’s also a lot of fun and a great way to spend a Friday evening! We hope you’ll join us.”
Friends in Action Clubhouse is fully accredited by Clubhouse International.
